SHUGAREE'S PERFORMANCE AT THE SILK ROAD CAFE IN CHINATOWN, NY: TEABAG OPEN MIC

WHA'DUP ALL!!!!! This is your girl "SHUGAREE" and I've had my debut performance this past Friday. It was off the hook. I loved every minute of it. And, I wasn't nervous. I was actually ready for it.

But check this out, I was the very last person to perform (save the best for last) yeah, I know all that good stuff, lol. But for real, it was hot. It was a diverse audience, but predominantly Asian. But they were feeling a shorty's flava. And that's whats up!

I had a good rapport with the crowd and things truly went well.

I need to give a HUGE shout out to my fam: Black Dove, Problem Child, D, eXonda, Camay and Reconstruct Art. Good lookin' out. It was definitely love.

If y'all wanna check me out for yourselves, check out www.teabagopenmic.com and go to the gallery under the date of 9/9/05 look under "misc." and "performers"

For those of y'all that don't know me, under "performers" I'm the very last photo.

So Holla at cha girl, and check me out on myspace.com/shugaree

Oh, BTW, I have another performance here in MD at the Safari Restaurant and Lounge in Lanham, MD on 9/14/05.

I'm trying to keep busy y'all.

Also, my promotional cd "LIFE HAPPENS" is completed, and the first song off that joint got airplay today.

So, check a shorty out, and show love and leave a comment. I'll definitely hit you up.

Also, if you want a copy of "LIFE HAPPENS" shoot me an email at shugaree@vzw.blackberry.net

Dear Shugaree:

Just today, I read your comments to D-Nice and, I must say, they were very well thought-out and inspirational. I, too, belive that a lot of hip-hop that I was accustomed to back in the day has completely gone to sh**. A lot of times, I wish I could get the music, eliminate the rap and put my own lyrics down. Not only do they make more sense, people can actually understand where I'm coming from and what I'm saying.

As a Chicagoan in his early 40's, I can honestly say that I was moved by your words to D-Nice, and I hope that one day I can hear you drop some lyrics, even if it may be underground or home-grown (I've heard some crazy things coming from tapes out of peoples basements before). I can appreciate you going ahead and starting your family, and I'm sure that if you had it to do all over again, family would come first then, too. Now you can pass on the infinite wisdom you've gained in your youth to your children for the CORRECT exposure to hip-hop that has seemed to escape a lot of kids today.

Peace Out from the Chi!
