GOTTA SHOW THE METRO DC SOME LOVE!!!!


Wha'dup all. Last week, I had my second performance at the Safari Restaurant and Steak House in Lanham, MD. It was an open mic, but this time the audience wasn't predominantly Asian. Everybody up in there were Black. Which was good, because now I could see how receptive "my people" were to my music. But there was one thing. Not only were they all Black (remember good thing), but because it was a Hip Hop open mic, the majority of the patrons were DUDES!!!! That's right, 3rd leggers, people from Mars, the XY chromosome, testoteronies!!!! You know, MEN!!!! And, luck would have it, any and all the people I invited, mind you these are the same people have said something to the effect of...."oh, when you do a performance down here, let me know, so I can come out to support......" whatever, didn't show.

So, since I have no family down here, and no real friends it was just your girl. And her mini skirt. Around all dudes (for the most part).

So, needless to say, I WAS NERVOUS AS HELL!!!!!!!

But I think the nervousness helped me to give a better performance. I got the crowd up, they were vibing with me. I had big brawly brothers with a serious head nod. I even did the call and response joint:

"When I say SHUGA, y'all say REE...."

Yeah, that was off the hook. Performing like that makes me feel like if I could perform there w/no fam or friends, then I can perform anywhere.

I'm ready now.

Watch out for me. I'm about to do BIG THINGS!!!!
